Here are comments from our group of Advance Readers about Laurie Graff's LOOKING FOR MR. GOODFROG.

Jennifer from Kansas City, MO

Have you read Chick Lit before?
Yes, I have.

Are you in your 20s/30s?
Yes, I'm 29.

Tell us an experience in this book that you related to.
I totally related to the online dating. I've been trying to do it for two years now, and I have similar tales to tell.

Tell us your thoughts about the book.
I liked how I could relate to the book even though Karrie is an actress in New York, and I live in the Midwest. I've been in similar situations such as online dating, going to events alone and being the only single person in a group of friends. I've personally had some bad experiences, but this book allowed me stand back and see the humor in dating and relationships. It gives me hope that someday I will find my own good frog.

Fran from Fiskdale, MA

Have you read Chick Lit before?
I have not read much "Chick Lit," but I read many bestsellers by female authors.

Are you in your 20s/30s?
I am in my 40s.

Tell us an experience in this book that you related to and tell us your thoughts about the book.
I enjoyed the references to other literature --- I think THE DIVE FROM CLAUSEN'S PIER was referenced, and of course, HE'S NOT THAT INTO YOU! I also related to her starting out on her own to take control of her life by creating her one-woman show. Even though it takes place in New York City, the "frogs" are recognizable to any female reader who has been through or is in the dating scene. Also, it was easy to imagine the panic over receiving a wedding invitation: whom do I sit with, will I be at the loser table, and can I pretend my gay friend is my date?!

Lois from Tucker, GA

Have you read Chick Lit before?
Yes.

Are you in your 20s/30s?
I am a long way from my 20s and 30s!

Tell us an experience in this book that you related to.
I did not relate directly to any of the experiences. Yet, I really enjoyed getting to know Karrie. (Well, maybe I could relate to her visit with her mother at the retirement community!)

Tell us your thoughts about the book.
I enjoyed this book. I thought it was well written and believable. Karrie was very likable. I especially liked the premise of having to "kiss a lot of frogs," and I and appreciated the fact that Karrie was able to use this to her advantage in developing her own theater show. The book was very readable. I will recommend it (and the author) to my friends who are in their 20s and 30s --- and those who are many years past that.

Julie from Sheldon, WI

Have you read Chick Lit before?
No, I have not read Chick Lit before, but I certainly enjoyed this book.

Are you in your 20s/30s?
Sorry folks, I'm a little bit older than that: 48 to be exact!

Tell us an experience in this book that you related to.
When we were in the seventh grade, my husband-to-be had his best friend ask me to the dance for him. My response: "Hell no." But, as our last names were side-by-side alphabetically, we were always "thrown" together. During our senior year of high school,  I decided he might not be so bad after all. We started dating and will celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary this August. So, that frog in junior high eventually turned into my Prince Charming. Karrie --- don't give up! Sometimes it just takes a little while (like 5 years) for that transformation to happen!

Tell us your thoughts about the book.
If Karrie can't find her Prince Charming, then may I suggest the third book be titled: KISS THEM ALL GOODBYE!

Thanks for picking me to preview the book --- it was great!

Marie from Middletown, RI

Have you read Chick Lit before?
I have read Chick Lit in the past, but not so much any more.

Are you in your 20s/30s?
I am 45 years old.

Tell us an experience in this book that you related to.
I very much related to the experience in the book of the grade school "pairing off."

Tell us your thoughts about the book.
I think the book gives a very clear description of the ups and downs of the dating world, and single women all around will empathize with the author's take on life.

Raymond from Elizabeth, NJ

Have you read Chick Lit before?
Yes, I have read Chick Lit before. I enjoy Jane Green's books.

Are you in your 20s/30s?
I am 24 years old.

Tell us an experience in this book that you related to.
At the beginning of the book, when Karrie felt so uncomfortable going to a wedding by herself --- I could relate to that. No one likes going to a wedding, unless it is their own. The whole experience is uncomfortable for someone who is single. I found it hilariously similar to experiences I've had at weddings.

Tell us your thoughts about the book.
I thought this was a funny book. It was an enjoyable read and I thank you for choosing me to win this book! I would highly recommend it. Laurie Graff is an excellent writer and I look forward to reading more of her books in the future.

Rhonda from Fairview, UT

Have you read Chick Lit before?
No, I haven't read Chick Lit before.

Are you in your 20s/30s?
I am 42.

Tell us an experience in this book that you related to.
I can relate to dating and wondering if there is a prince out there for me again.

Tell us your thoughts about the book.
It is interesting that she can go back, look at all the guys she's dated, and laugh about them and herself. The ending did not go as I expected it to, but I liked it. I am very glad that I had read it. It made me think about the different frogs in my life at different stages of time. I would definitely say that this is a good book to read.

Sherry from Fairfield, OH

Have you read Chick Lit before?
I read Chick Lit all the time. I usually read more serious books for my book club and then alternate with bestsellers and Chick Lit.

Are you in your 20s/30s?
I am in my 30s.

Tell us an experience in this book that you related to.
The Internet dating really hit home. While I am not as old as she is, I also tried the Internet thing with about the same amount of success. I also went through the same process when first trying to decide whether to try it, and then when it came time to continue or retire.

Tell us your thoughts about the book.
What a fresh take on romance! The book doesn't follow the traditional mold of girl meets boy, girl and boy think they are hated by the other, and then prevail in the end (why finish the book)! Instead, this was about life, friends, and your dreams, in addition to many boys! I loved how throughout her recollection of all the frogs, she did not give up hope that her prince was out there!

Nancy from Miami, FL

Have you read Chick Lit before?
I have never read any Chick Lit books.

Are you in your 20s/30s?
I'm in my later 40s.

Tell us an experience in this book that you related to and tell us your thoughts about the book.
I can relate to this book because I'm originally from New York. Even though I have not been there since the 1970s, I can hear Karrie's accent right though the pages. Her attitude reminds me of a friend I had when I was young. I'm sure we all had a few frogs in our dating experiences. Thankfully I didn't have too many since I married young, but I sure did have my fair share of broken hearts! (mostly from frogs). So far, I can relate to the wedding in the beginning. I hate weddings. I also can relate to being attracted to somebody who everyone thinks is definitely not a good choice. Unfortunately, I haven't gotten any farther than that, but can't wait to get back into it. Yes, I do like this book. And again, I want to thank you for the opportunity to read it first at Bookreporter.com!

Elizabeth from Jacksonville, NC

Have you read Chick Lit before?
Yes, definitely.

Are you in your 20s/30s?
I'm 28.

Tell us an experience in this book that you related to.
Well, I'm 28, single, and have had more than my share of frogs so I related to the whole thing. LOL.

Tell us your thoughts about the book.
It's a good story overall, but for me, the beginning seemed a bit cluttered --- messy. After I got past the first few chapters, it was smooth sailing and I couldn't wait to finish. I certainly related to Karrie and her many frogs.

Amanda from Cheney, WA

Have you read Chick Lit before?
I have read one Chick lit book before. I believe that it was BAD BOY by Olivia Goldsmith.

Are you in your 20s/30s?
I'm 18 years old.

Tell us an experience in this book that you related to.
I've met guys like one man in the book who strikes up a conversation with Karrie at the wedding. She obviously doesn't want to talk to him but he ignores all of her hints. It happened to me a couple of times while riding the city bus. The men keep talking, probably thinking that since I seem to be listening, they are getting somewhere, until
eventually I have to end it. I told one guy, who must have been 25, that I was underaged to get him to leave. Later on, it made a funny story. I think that every woman can think of their own frog stories.

Tell us your thoughts about the book.
I like this book in general. The story is fun and light, and the tone that the author uses is very pleasant. I'd read this kind of book if I wanted to just unwind and have a good laugh. I think that the story moves a little bit slowly for me, but it doesn't do any major harm to how much I liked it. However, I was thrown off a bit by the author's use of time transitions. It worked well between the chapters, but there is at least one spot in the book where --- in the middle of a page --- suddenly the story goes back in time. I thought, "what!?" when I read the paragraph, and then I had to read over it again to see that a time transition had occurred. I did find many parts of the book to be quite funny and easy to relate to. A scene in which Karrie makes some uncomfortable comments in the women's restroom was amusing to me. Because I don't often read Chick Lit, I don't know how the story holds up to the genre, but it was at least a fun read for me. I would probably read more if the opportunity arose.

Anne from Fort Worth, TX

Have you read Chick Lit before?
Yes, I have, but not as much as I read romance.

Are you in your 20s/30s?
No, I'm not, but then neither is the protagonist! In fact, I am just
about the same age as Karrie (early 40s).

Tell us an experience in this book that you related to.
Having found my own "goodfrog" in my teens, I didn't really relate to much of what Karrie was going through, although I certainly felt a lot of empathy towards her. However, I could relate to her feelings about her ticking biological clock!

Tell us your thoughts about the book.
From the title and genre, I expected this book to be humorous and was very surprised that it was not --- except in occasional scenes. That is not to say that I didn't enjoy the book, because I did. One of its flaws is that it assumes too much knowledge of New York and the Jewish community, which often made me feel confused.
