What is your favorite series? As we know you are voracious readers, you can name up to three.

Booksie2@aol.com
The Belgariad by David Eddings
The Harry Potter books
Sherlock Holmes stories

dianes@earthlink.net
Jack Liffey mysteries by John Shannon

Shebelou@aol.com

Guido Brunetti series by Donna Leon (as these have been slow in getting to America, I ordered them from England)
Charlie Parker series by John Connolly (great stories with a supernatural edge)
John Cardinal series by Giles Blunt (only 3 books so far but going strong)

MarshaNee@adelphia.net
Janet Evanovich series about Stephanie Plum. Starts with One for the Money.

catlvr14@aol.com
My favorite series would have to be, and not necessarily in any order:

Stepanie Plum books by Janet Evanovich
The Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon
Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling

charris@pctelecom.us
Favorite series are by J. A. Jance, Margaret Maron and Lilian Jackson Braun.

kathybold@atlanticbb.net
Harry Potter, Janet Evanovich's number series, and Sue Grafton's ABC series.

miavonbeeden@gmail.com
I adore Clive Cussler's Dirk Pitt character and all his adventures.

I used to look forward to Patterson's Alex Cross and Kellerman's Alex Delaware books, but they have really gotten so two-dimensional and predictable that I don't enjoy them as much.

Andra1938@aol.com
Tony Hillerman's Jim Chee and Joe Leaphorn series is my favorite, followed closely by Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series and Daniel Silva's Gabriel Allon series.

Jewelry224@aol.com
J.A. Jance's Joanna Brady series.

MsJTurner@aol.com
Myron Bolitar series by Harlan Coben
Spenser series by Robert B. Parker
Lucas Davenport series by John Sandford

AnniejoB@aol.com
Number One: Harry Potter. I am 55 years young. This is my favorite because my 10-year-old granddaughter, 33-year-old son, and myself read them together. The last two times the books have come out I purchased only two. You cannot put the books down without the person who is not reading one grabbing and claiming it for themselves. The books are great, keep my interest and appeal to every age group.

Sue Grafton's Alphabet series with Kinsey Millhone. Reading one of her books takes me back to when I was 10, reading Nancy Drew under the covers. I try to purchase her books the day they come out. I will make dinner in a crock pot so we can eat and I can go straight to bed. There I drift back 45 years where I have no cares in the world. The only thing that matters is me and Kinsey and solving the mystery. The books are well written and I rarely go to sleep before I have finished one. Kinsey and I are friends.

The third one is much harder to pick. I read so many of the series ones. I think my third one would be James Lee Burke. I have watched Dave Robicheaux bury two wives and watched his daughter Alafair grow up and go off to college. When I read this series I can hear the people talk. The rich southern accents seem to flow through. I can see the bayou and picture the people in my mind. A few years ago when we were visiting New Orleans, I made my husband drive me to New Iberia so I could get the full picture in my mind. A series that makes you want to visit the area as if the characters are real is tops on my list.

Racetrcker@aol.com
Nameless Detective by Bill Pronzini
Alex Cross mysteries by James Patterson
Nero Wolfe by Rex Stout (an oldie but still goodie)

Anonymous
My favorite series is the Goldy Shulz series by Diane Mott Davidson. What fun...a caterer with yummy recipes solving crime in a small town!

Ronnie016@aol.com
Unfortunately, the only series I've become hooked on are kids' books. I wait patiently for the next Cirque du Freak by Darren Shan. I LOVE Harry Potter and can't wait for the next movie. My all-time favorite is A Series of Unfortunate Events. I've got just that sort of slightly twisted sense of humor that I find these funny. I used to read V.C. Andrews, but after her death the books just weren't the same so I stopped reading them.

suyme1@sbcglobal.net
The Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich
The In Death series by JD Robb
The Alphabet series by Sue Grafton

teasl5@sbcglobal.net
Lincoln Rhyme series by Jeffery Deaver
Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich
Spenser series by Robert B. Parker

mohendies@earthlink.net
My favorite series are Harry Potter, Jeffrey Deaver's Lincoln Rhyme, and Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum.

GandmaRI@aol.com
The Anna Pigeon series by Nevada Barr
The Kay Hooper books....Evil series, Shadow series

CBerger@Interiordesign.edu
V.I. Warshawski series by Sara Paretsky
Lucas Davenport (Prey novels) by John Sanford
Laurie R. King, particularly the Kate Martinelli series

There are so many, but hopefully these are a few that may not immediately come to mind, and I have to add one more author I recently discovered, but she has been around for a long time --- Margaret Maron.

ratmammy@lofton.org

Jonathan Kellerman's Alex Delaware series
Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series

MAP5402@aol.com
Robert Parker's Spenser series
Michael Connelly's Harry Bosch series

RDHoff2551@aol.com
Harry Potter
Sue Grafton - Alphabet series with Kinsey Milhone
Janet Evanovich - # series with Stephanie Plum

prwamsley@adelphia.net
Kay Scarpetta books by Patricia Cornwell, The Cat Who series by Lillian Jackson Braun, and the Kinsey Millhone alphabet murders by Sue Grafton.

CEJANGO@aol.com
Recently, my favorite series is the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich.

edserve@beld.net
Commissario Guido Brunetti appearing in the mysteries of Donna Leon, and Justin de Quincy in the series by Sharon Penman.

In the case of Leon, Brunetti is a marvelous and very human creation. Aided by his equally apt wife Paola, his solutions are never "by the book"; rather, they are tempered with his grasp of what justice means in the real world.

Sharon writes historical fiction about the Normans --- William the Conqueror, his sons, daughters, grandsons, and bastard sons. They are historically accurate and bring to flesh these larger than life characters, particularly Eleanor of Aquitaine. In the medieval mystery series (there are now four), we see Justin de Quincy, the bastard son of a Bishop, becoming the "Queens Man" (Queen Eleanor of Aquitaine, that is). Eleanor is still very much a vital force in the English and French courts and attracts intrigue as if she were a magnet. These stories have more twists and turns than Mulholland Drive; and as her historical fiction does, the mysteries make the cunning and dangerous world of the 13th century come alive through the characters and plots dripping with high-handed crimes.

conniekallenberg@msn.com
Author: Susan Wittig Albert
Series: China Bayles Mystery series

User116712@aol.com
Gail Conner/Anthony Quintana series by Barbara Parker. She gets better and better. I wish she would write faster.

Stephanie Plum by Janet Evanovich. I hope she doesn't let her characters get stale.

An old favorite: Brotherhood of War series by WEB Griffin

writeroffthelake@unforgettable.com
My favorite book series dates back to my childhood and is my favorite series because it not only has horses, but because I loved it so much that it was one of the reasons I started writing. And that series is the four-book Mountain Pony series by Henry V. Larom, published by Grosset & Dunlap in the '40s and '50s. Now if someone would write a series set in a resort and with a rock and roll background, then I could list a second favorite...or maybe I'll just have to write that series myself.

bookworm_1959@hotmail.com
Sue Grafton's alphabet series
Randy Wayne White's Doc Ford series
James Lee Burke's Dave Robicheaux series

LadyHawke1043@aol.com
I wait with bated breath for each John Sandford Prey book, and Jonathan Kellerman's Alex Delaware protagonist books; but of course, the Harry Potter series is tops this decade. I could list many more, but you said three was the limit.

susanreading@tds.net
Mary Stewart's Crystal Cave books
Richard North Patterson's books (overlapping characters)
And of course Harry Potter

AMAF113@aol.com
Of course, the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich.

Sadiebelle238@aol.com

Big Stone Gap
Big Cherry Holler
Milk Glass Moon

MHaury2@aol.com
The Jane Whitefield series by Thomas Perry
Sujata Massey's series starring Rei Shimura
The Lydia Chin and Bill Smith mysteries by S.J. Rozan

yadgirl@chartertn.net
My favorite series so far is The Women's Murder Club by James Patterson, but I've just finished the first two books in the Iris Johansen Eve Duncan series, and I like it just as much, maybe more. I've just recently started reading series.

KThowto@aol.com
I'm always on the lookout for a new Kay Scarpetta story and thoroughly enjoy Eve Duncan page-turners.

FHK326@aol.com
Alex Cross series by James Patterson
Stone Barrington series by Stuart Woods
Prey series/Lucas Davenport by John Sanford

Lynn in WA
It's really hard to keep this only to 3 choices! But I would say my 3 favorite series are: Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum. I especially love the characters of Stephanie, Grandma Mazur, and Lulu; Elizabeth George's Inspector Lynley and friends; and Margaret Maron's Judge Deborah Knott series.

SteinertT@aol.com
My favorite is the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich. They always have me laughing out loud as I read. They're great escapism, especially good for summer reads.

I only recently started reading the Harry Potter series for myself. Before they were read out loud to my daughters, but now they're older. The 5th one was the first I had the luxury of reading to myself. I've just finished the 6th one and hope I won't have to wait two years for the last one.

lewis474@adelphia.net
Harry Potter
Alexandra Cooper by Linda Fairstein
Inspector Banks by Peter Robinson

DKRnj@aol.com
Cat Who series by Lillian Jackson Braun
Sue Grafton series

ngroves@charter.net
Harry Potter
Tony Hillerman's Navajo mysteries
Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series

hagarrpt@earthlink.net
My favorite series are: the Elvis Cole/Joe Pike series by Robert Crais, the Max and Annie/Broward's Rock series by Carolyn Hart, and the No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency series by Alexander McCall Smith.

hstay@direcway.com
My list of top ten favorite authors has changed over the years, but three long-standing names emerge for consistently good writing, excellent plotting, and whose books I always buy in hardcover. In order of time: Peter Robinson for his Alan Banks series (since 1987); Michael Connelly for his Harry Bosch series (since 1992); and Carol O'Connell for her Kathleen Mallory series (since 1994). I have never been disappointed. A side note is each author has stand-alone books equally engaging.

gregc2@bellsouth.net

melmee@cox-internet.com
My favorite series are the Harry Potter books by J.K. Rowling, the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich, and Tempe Brennan series by Kathy Reichs.

themiers@bellsouth.net
I have absolutely loved the Mitford series. It saddens me to see Father Tim getting old. The Philip Gulley Harmony series is a delight as well. Both series are delightful, lighthearted, make-you-feel-good series with characters you'd like to know.

MMarcia48@aol.com
Nevada Barr's inexhaustible National Park sleuth, Anna Pigeon
James Lee Burke's flawed and tarnished knight, Dave Robicheaux
John Sanford's Prey novels. I keep expecting to tire of dusty old Lucas Davenport. Instead, each time I pick one up, I'm riveted.

Only three?

gloriadei@tcei.com
Harry Potter
Women's Murder Club by James Patterson
The Vampire Chronicles (the early ones)

rcmaynard@bellsouth.net
My first favorite series is The Dark Tower by Stephen King. That series came in seven different books that were very thick. They were great.

My second favorite series is The Green Mile by Stephen King. This series came in six different books that were smaller. It was made into a movie, which I thoroughly enjoyed.

My third favorite series is The Blackstone Chronicles by John Saul. That series also contained six small books. All three series made for great reading.

JainDough@aol.com
Jan Burke's Irene Kelly books (they just keep getting better)
Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum books (so funny)

Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series without a doubt. Next would probably be Harry Potter. Although the author is now deceased, one of my favorite series was the Bloodhound series by Virginia Lanier.

TangleOaksInfo@aol.com
Nina Reilly series by Perri O'Shaughnessy
Alex Cross and the Women's Murder Club series by James Patterson
Adam Dagliesh series by PD James

Rather hard to limit it to three writers!

bethcrowley04@yahoo.com
Elizabeth George
Lindsey Davis
Henning Mankell

FRoybiskie@aol.com
I have three favorite series that I really cannot choose between. They are Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series, Suzanne Brockmann's Troubleshooter/SEAL Team 16 series, and Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark-Hunter series.

Lynn from Oshkosh, WI
My absolute favorite series is the Nevada Barr series. I love the outdoors. I love camping. I love our national parks, and I love mysteries. Anna Pigeon is the best character ever and Nevada Barr is a great mystery writer.

Alars11@aol.com
I am 66 years old and have been reading Nancy Drew books since I was a very young child. Then my children read them, and now my grandchildren are reading Nancy Drew books. That has to be the nicest, longest-running series ever!

landis@arm-tek.net
Mitch Rapp series by Vince Flynn
Harry Bosch series by Michael Connelly
Leo Waterman series by G.M. Ford

Fnysmrtgrl@aol.com
The Harry Potter series is interesting and suspenseful, although the endings of the books are not really great.

The Pendragon series is one of the best I have ever read. Each book has its own story and wonderful endings, making you want to read the next story. It is about a teenager who finds out he is a Traveler between worlds in the universe and his duty is to stop a villain trying to destroy the worlds.

jhoaglin@sbcglobal.net
Julia Spencer Fleming, author of series that includes: In the Bleak Midwinter, A Fountain Filled with Blood, and Out of the Deep I Cry. These have excellent plot and character development, and are very well-written.

All of Tony Hillerman's Joe Leaphorn and Jim Chee books. His "poetry in prose" descriptions of the desert landscape make me feel like I can see it for myself.

Nevada Barr's Anna Pigeon books also give such a sense of place, and are well written.

evelyn5@houston.rr.com
Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum
Marcia Muller's Sharon McCone
Perri O'Shaughnessy's Nina Reilly

dmcowling@shaw.ca
The Inspector Lynley series by Elizabeth George
Maisie Dobbs series by Jacqueline Winspear
Patrick/Ingrid Gillard series by Margaret Duffy

Marty from St. Louis, MO
My favorite series is Michael Connelly's Harry Bosch books. I never tire of reading them. Each new one is as good as or better than the last one (unlike many other series I have read where the first 2 or 3 were great but the newer ones get more and more awful).

Running a close second is John Sandford's Lucas Davenport series.

Another series that I love is The Camulod Chronicles by Jack Whyte. I have been watching for a new one from him for some time now and just last week, quite by accident, found it had been out since last fall and I didn't know it!

DonnaPadgett@webtv.net
Jean Auel's Earth Children series is my favorite. I can't wait for the last one to come out!!!

alyciatruett@frontiernet.net

MIAMI52@aol.com
The Prey series by John Sanford
The Dirk Pitt series by Clive Cussler
W.E.B. Griffin's Brotherhood of War series

I just L-O-V-E Harlan Coben's early books with sports agent Myron Bolitar and his psychopath friend Winsor Horne Lockwood III and that saucy minx Esperanza Diaz. Oh Harlan, when will you write with them again!?
