I rate it a 5. It held my interest from chapter to chapter. Being a girl from Iowa, I found this a whole different life.
I also have just finished VERY VALENTINE by Adriana Trigiani. also a 5. Adriana's books keep getting better. This was a great lesson on how they make shoes, something I never thought of before. I especially liked the fact that she did not have the heroine live happily ever after at the end. NORTH RIVER - Pete Hamill SHELTER ME - Juliette Fay MATRIMONY - Joshua Henkin Debbie Murphy Definitely WE WERE THE MULVANEYS (Joyce Carol Oates), THE DOUBLE BIND (Chris Bohjalian), and especially TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD (Harper Lee). It's interesting to hear which character people think symbolizes the Mockingbird. Juanita Adamson JUBILEE by Margaret Walker The "slavery" story to GONE WITH THE WIND. So many concepts to think about. Louise I'll probably think of more when I have time to think, period, but the one series of books I have discussed with others more than any I have EVER read is Stephenie Meyers' Twilight books. I have found people talking about it around the world and on international flights.

They all are World War II books (in part) and are all well written and deal with, at least in part, aspects of the War that don't get as much press as some others. They are excellent reads.
