My best friend's office is completely Oscar obsessed. They all
know not only who is nominated, but also who all the presenters
will be and the lyrics to all the theme songs. Her office is throwing
a party so they can all watch the show together. The receptionist
even has a pool going as to who will wear the tackiest outfit (my
money is on Halle Berry).
For others, Oscar night is just another Monday, one preferably
spent relaxing in a cozy chair with a book and a cup of tea. It
is with both camps in mind that I offer the following list of selected
Oscar nominees and books. Those of you who have seen the movies
mentioned can read the book versions and compare them. And those
who prefer their entertainment on paper, as opposed to on celluloid,
will want to see if there are any tomes they may have missed.
