BLACK CAUCUS LITERATURE AWARDS

The BCALA, of the American Library Association, was organized, in 1970, to promote the development of library and information services for African Americans and other people of African descent. The Black Caucus Literature Awards recognize excellence in adult fiction and nonfiction by African American authors published in the previous year, recognition of a first novelist, as well as a citation for Outstanding Contribution to Publishing.
