Daphne from Denver, CO

No.

Barnes and Elizabeth Chadwick.

What did you think of THE LAST QUEEN?
I loved it! It was very well written and a great story. I read it in two days.

Would you ever read a future book by C. W. Gortner?
Definitely.

Karen from Vashon, WA

Have you previously read a book by C. W. Gortner?
Nope.

What other historical fiction authors do you usually read?
I'm a big fan of Ellis Peters and Peter Tremayne. I also read almost everything medieval and whatever else pertains to the book I myself am writing at the time.

What did you think of THE LAST QUEEN?
I liked it very much. I have a poster from a production of Juana La Loca on my wall and have always wanted to know about her --- beyond what we've all been told.

Would you ever read a future book by C. W. Gortner?
Absolutely.

Page from Fairview, NC

Have you previously read a book by C. W. Gortner?
I've never read anything by this author, but would read future and past books.

What other historical fiction authors do you usually read?
I read Morgan Llywelyn, Judith Tarr and Steve Berry.

What did you think of THE LAST QUEEN?
One of the things I really enjoyed about THE LAST QUEEN was that as you are reading the book, the character is evolving. Most books introduce you to the life of the character and then skip ahead to the future. I enjoyed having the character develop at the same time that she was in the book.

I didn't know of her from history and the author made her personable and believable, even if she were mad or pretending to be mad.

Would you ever read a future book by C. W. Gortner?
Yes.

Sally from Mendham, NJ

Have you previously read a book by C. W. Gortner?
No, I haven't.

What other historical fiction authors do you usually read?
Historical fiction authors I have read include Conn Iggulden, Phillippa Gregory, Donna Tartt, Louis de Bernières, Virginia Dyer Vogt, Jung Chang, Sheri Holman, Ha Jin, Jeff Shaara, Donna Woolfolk Cross and Marion Zimmer Bradley.

What did you think of THE LAST QUEEN?
I really enjoyed THE LAST QUEEN and would highly recommend it. The story was fast paced, and absorbing from the very beginning. The pages seemed to turn themselves, and it was one of those books I call unputdownable! It sparked my interest in reading more about Juana of Castile. The author wrote compellingly of Juana's tragic but inspiring life, endless court intrigues, royal life and responsibilities, and the colorful 16th Century in Europe and England.

Would you ever read a future book by C. W. Gortner?
Yes, without a doubt.

Billie from Pasadena, CA

Have you previously read a book by C. W. Gortner?
No, I have never previously read a book by this author.

What other historical fiction authors do you usually read?
One of my favorite historical fiction authors is Edward Rutherfurd.

What did you think of THE LAST QUEEN?
I think the book was good, but a little thin in places on historical information. I don't know if I would put this author first in priority over other historical fiction writers.
