Dear Reader:
Everyone who loves books knows the pleasure of falling in love with reading, but can
you recall the moment that it happened? Some time ago I mentioned that my son Cory was
reading GO DOG GO. That was the moment he fell in love with reading. Now he has moved on
to chapter books, and he carries them with him everywhere --- the one he is reading along
with the ever-important backup book. I'm proud to say that he's just like his mom in this
regard. We would love to know if you remember the moment that you fell in love with
reading, which is the Question of the Week.
There was a huge response to last week's question: When reading a book in a series are you
compelled to read in order? (e.g., A IS FOR ALIBI before P IS FOR PERIL) Or, are you
comfortable reading out of order? Find out what other Bookreporter Readers Had to Say.
Next week we will be bringing you a special Series Books feature. For those of you looking
for new authors --- or if you just don't want to have to think about what to read all
summer long --- you can stock up on a series and be set with reading material for a long
time to come! This is a feature that we plan to keep around, and we'll be adding to from
time to time. Want a hint of what's on the list? Two of our choices are the Janet
Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series and Jan Karon's Mitford Years series. Be sure to check
back next week for the rest of the list.
