Dear Reader:
I looked down this week's lineup and realized if I were still at the magazine we would be calling this --- The Men's Issue. Among the features this week, we have titles about golf and books to buy dads for Father's Day. A gift thought courtesy of Ann Bruns, our Editorial Manager --- books beat soap on a rope and Kiss the Cook aprons. And while you are in the bookstore, you can buy yourself a book as well.
Looking at the Poll Results these next two weeks will be heavy bookbuying weeks for our readers. Your top hardcover pick was BEACH HOUSE by James Patterson that is in stores Tuesday, the 11th followed by HARD EIGHT by Janet Evanovich that hits the bookstores on June 18th.

Looking for a side trip on your summer vacation? Last week, the New England Zoo unveiled a Sculpture Garden to honor Theodor Geisel, better known to all of us as Dr. Seuss. As a tribute, bronze sculptures of the characters he brought to life for us through books are being brought to their own life in a sculpture garden. They are displayed on the wide green linking the Springfield, Massachusetts city library and its four museums that helped in developing the author's imagination. The project cost $6.2 million dollars to build, and Geisel's stepdaughter, Lark Grey Dimond-Cates, a sculptor, 7 years to translate his drawings from paper to bronze.
