Dear Reader:
Flying home from the Romance Writers of America convention last weekend I was seated next to a charming little boy from London. During the flight I was reading the first A SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS by Lemony Snicket title (yes, I confess I am a tad behind the curve on reading this series). He sweetly (the accent was so charming) kept piping up about the differences between the U.S. and U.K. editions. He just was mesmerized by this. By the way, he pronounced the books to be "brilliant." Too cute.
This brings me to another thought that my friend Cathy Dezelon shared a few weeks ago. She asked if I had listened to the Harry Potter books. She said it gave her an entirely different perspective on the work. If you have a favorite author, you might think about listening to her/his books as well. Might give you a totally different perspective. My children are both love audiobooks and often listen to the books that they have read. Consider this my reading tip for the week.
While traveling I also read a book by an author who is new to me --- Suzanne Chazin. Her protagonist Georgia Skeehan is a female fire warden. She is an author to keep an eye on. I read FLASH OVER, which is the second in this series. We will have a review of this in August.
Where did summer go? I cannot believe that August is next week. Our Poll this week take a look at some August titles. Can't wait to see what you are looking forward to reading!
I just got word that next week I am taping a couple of segments for the local early morning CBS news program, which airs in the NY area from 5-7AM. No firm air dates yet, but will be sure to share these as I have them.
Huge lineup of reviews and features this week, so please read on.....
