What did you think of THE HINDI-BINDI CLUB?
Delightful. There weren't any surprises in the plot, but the characters were fun and I loved the lush descriptions of Indian life. I might even try out the recipes at some point, too.

What did you think of THE HINDI-BINDI CLUB?
I felt this book was exceptional. One of my daughters lives in northern VA and works in DC, and my other daughter lives in Maryland. Spending time there myself, the book was completely accurate in the places, events, and descriptions of the area. When I am out and about while visiting, we do run into mothers and daughters of Indian descent out shopping, dining, etc., together. While reading, I felt just like I was there visiting my daughter and interacting with the characters of the book. The characters were colorful, and I can't wait to try some of the recipes at the end of each chapter. I would highly recommend this book and have to several friends already!

What authors do you usually read?
I belong to two book clubs, so my list of authors is very long. Some of my favorites are Barbara Kingsolver, Myla Goldberg, Kim Edwards, Sara Gruen, and Mark Lee for novels, and James Patterson, Patricia Cornwell, Michael Connelly, Sara Paretsky, Martha Grimes, Harlan Coben and Agatha Christie for mysteries.
What did you think of THE HINDI-BINDI CLUB?
I loved the book --- couldn't put it down! I especially loved the glimpse into Indian history and culture. It made me want to find out more. And, of course, I want to try some of her delicious-sounding recipes.
Would you ever read a future book by Monica Pradhan?
Yes, definitely. I noticed on her website that she is working on a tie-in novel to THE HINDI-BINDI CLUB and can hardly wait until it comes out.
Thanks for introducing me to this author and extraordinary book!
