Here are comments from our group of Advance Readers about Brett Battles's THE CLEANER.

David from Clarksville, TN

What authors do you read?
I've read all of Tom Clancy's books, most of James Patterson's, Nelson DeMille's, Robin Cook's, Dan Simmons's and many others. Brett Battles's writing style fits right in with the best of them.

What did you think of THE CLEANER?
Thanks for allowing me to read THE CLEANER. It's a SUPERB thriller. Brett Battles has written a book that kept my interest from the first paragraph to the last. I've lived in Hawaii, so I sure could relate to his hero, Jonathan's longing to be back on the island instead of being called in to handle a 'routine' case for 'the Office.' As the book progressed and he traveled the world to solve the mystery --- revolving around a bracelet he found at the original crime scene --- while trying to avoid becoming a case for some other Cleaner to handle, I got more involved than usual with the story and plot. This isn't the kind of book in which you guess the ending before you're halfway through, and then get bored. I hope the author plans to give Jonathan Quinn and friends a lot more cases to work on. I know that I won't hesitate to pick up the next book he writes.

Debbie from Upland, CA

What authors do you read?
Janet Evanovich, Michael Connelly, Robert Crais, Sue Grafton, Nora Roberts, and so many others.

What did you think of THE CLEANER?
I am sometimes leery of "first" books, but this one was very easy to read. The storyline moved along nicely and, for the most part, was believable. It was a quick read that I enjoyed.

Would you ever read a future book by Brett Battles?
I looked him up on the web and was excited to see that he has finished the sequel to this book and is currently working on the third Jonathan Quinn installment. I would like to know where the story goes with Jonathan and Orlando. My favorite books are those that follow a certain character.

Judith from Baton Rouge, LA

What authors do you read?
I have an eclectic taste in books. Lately, I have been reading mostly thrillers, such as books by Michael Crichton, Val McDermid, David Baldacci, and David Morrell.

What did you think of THE CLEANER?
The book blew me away. Brett Battles is my newest favorite author right now. THE CLEANER was even better than Baldacci’s Camel Club series.

The best part --- the part of the book that is the most important to me --- is the ending. THE CLEANER has a magnificent ending. I had no idea who Dahl was until it was revealed, and even then I didn’t believe it. I love how this book pulled me in, made me feel I was right there with the characters.

What an amazing writer! I have told everyone I know about this book.

Would you ever read a future book by Brett Battles?
Guaranteed! I plan to purchase his next book in this series as soon as it’s out.

Tricia from Davie, FL

What authors do you read?
I read books from authors Jeffery Deaver, Nicci French, Karin Slaughter, Mo Hayder, J. A. Konrath, Jeff Lindsay, Charlie Huston, and many others.

What did you think of THE CLEANER?
I enjoyed the book very much. I liked the protagonist's line of work, as opposed to the normal good/bad guy employment. I felt drawn in from the beginning; I liked the characters, the locales and the action. This was a refreshing change of pace for me. I can't wait to read more by this author.

Would you ever read a future book by Brett Battles?
Yes, I would.
