One of the hottest virtual reality games is a medieval war game where the players enter the Dominion of Sarxos and fight for land, soldiers, and possessions. The players get to choose who they want to be, taking on the persona of warlords or even wizards. Here, the best players who have reigned as the dominating forces of Sarxos lead fantasy armies into battle. Apparently, there is one player who isn't happy with the current game results and wants to get revenge at all costs, even if I means taking the battle into the real world.

When the best players have their computers demolished, Net Force Explorers Megan O'Malley and Leif Anderson are called upon to discover just who is taking this game so seriously. Megan and Leif are experienced players in the virtual world of Sarxos and have the ability to investigate on the scene and ask questions of the "characters" of Sarxos. The danger accelerates as another key player is attacked and physically injured in the real world. Yet, Meg and Leif are not giving up on the case, even when instructed to do so by their Net Force boss. They may be the next victims of this online criminal. The excitement of both the real and virtual worlds mix together to make a page-turning story for teenage techies and gamers in THE DEADLIEST GAME.
