After narrowly escaping an attempt on his life, Florida state investigator Nick Stranahan wants to find how who wants him dead, and why. He enters into the world of the compulsively vain --- a TV talk show host, a personal injury lawyer and a hit man on the run --- all with similar needs: they want to alter their appearance. SKIN TIGHT features Chemo, one of Hiaasen's most colorful bad guys. The encounter at the airport when between Chemo and the Hara Krishna flower peddlers is memorably funny. Plastic surgery has never been more fun.
