Jilliane, why did you have to wait until I am 70 years old to start writing? All I ask is that you write fast. I never expected to find Turow, Reichs, Patterson and Harris all in one book.

Hi Jilliane,

I hope you are well,

I haven't really got any specific question to ask, about RETRIBUTION.

I enjoyed it a lot. I read many books of this genre, also mystery/thriller. What I did enjoy with RETRIBUTION was the manner in which the court proceedings and some rather "strange" oddities in Law were explained. I was able, at all times, to relate to the heroin, CJ in the emotional pressure she was under, not only to keep William Bantling from ever walking out of prison a free man, but also to keep to the requirements of the Law. Particularly in the one instance of the "anonymous" call received by the Officer Chavez resulting in his apprehension of the subject in the Jag. I have no idea of how the Law works, but I could follow each step of what occurred, what did not, and why.

More, soon please?

The book was fabulous. You have surpassed Grisham, Scottoline, Patterson, Cornwell , etc., with ability to capture situations and bring reader into the action. Good luck with future writing. You will have a rewarding new career.

I just finished reading Jillane Hoffman's book: RETRIBUTION. It was recommended to me by Jim Munchel at the Waldenbook store at the Capital City Mall. It was briliant. I've said this over and over again: "I love lawyers who become writers." Hope Jillian Hoffman is at work writing.

Dear Jilliane,

I am an avid reader and just completed your book Retribution today. It is so hard for me to believe that this is your first book.

The plot was excellent and kept me guessing to the end--which are my favorite kinds of books.

I hope to see many more from you in the future. Thanks for writing such a great book.

I have just finished Retribution. This is a great book, well researched, technically correct and hard to put down. I trust she is writing another.

I'm the Director of the Carnegie-Evans Public Library in Albia, IA a small town in southeast Iowa. I just finished your book and I loved it!!! I'm going to order another for the library because it's one that will be popular here. We also own the audiocassette. I'm looking forward to your next book.
