Here are comments from our group of Advance Readers about Karin Slaughter's FAITHLESS.

Carol from Fairorn, OH

Have you previously read a book by Karin Slaughter?
I have read, I think, every book in this series, so the answer to the first question is yes.

What other suspense/thriller writers do you read?
I enjoy reading Patricia Cornwell, Kathy Reichs, Lisa Scottoline, James Patterson, Mary Higgins Clark, Ian Rankin and Quintin Jardine.

What did you think of FAITHLESS?
I am a voracious reader and I love Karin Slaughter; she combines her character's coroner/pediatric work well. I really enjoyed this book, I love reading about Jeffrey and Sara and find myself rooting for their relationship. I so enjoyed this book. I saw the best and the worst in human nature.

Would you ever read a future book by Karin Slaughter?
I will certainly read any future books that Karin Slaughter writes.

Cherie from Perry, UT

Have you previously read a book by Karin Slaughter?
No, I had never even heard of her before.

What other suspense/thriller writers do you read?
Dinah McCall, Karen Harper and Alan M. Brooker.

What did you think of FAITHLESS?
This book was so hard to put down. Right from the beginning, I was hooked and towards the middle I remember thinking it would be hard to write a book this good and have an equally good ending to it. Well, the ending was even better. The suspense never ends --- every time you think it's going to slow down it picks right back up again. It's hard to put down.

FAITHLESS is a very satisfying read all the way through. I was trying to figure out the killer right along with Jeffrey, Lena and Sara.

Karin depicted her characters and their situations so well that you could almost feel what they were going through. And I could tell a lot of research and thought went into this book.

Thank you for this opportunity to discover Karin Slaughter and to read FAITHLESS.

Would you ever read a future book by Karin Slaughter?
Yes, I would.

Cynthia from Douglaston, NY

Have you previously read a book by Karin Slaughter?
This is the first book I read by Karin Slaughter and I'm looking forward to reading her next book, INDELIBLE, that is coming out in paperback in September.

What other suspense/thriller writers do you read?
I enjoy reading suspense books by many different authors, too many to list. The following is a partial list: Nora Roberts, Robert B. Parker, James Patterson, J.A. Jance, Michael Connelly and Iris Johansen.

What did you think of FAITHLESS?
FAITHLESS was very good. Once I started reading this book, I couldn't put the book down. It was full of suspense.

Ivy from Great Neck, NY

Have you previously read a book by Karin Slaughter?
Yes, I have read all of her books in this series.

What other suspense/thriller writers do you read?
Many! Parker, Lehane, Patterson, McDermid, Jefferson, Vine, Koontz, Deaver, Kellerman, Lindsay, King, Child, Connolly, Connelly, Lippman, Ablow, Arvin and Fleming, etc.

What did you think of FAITHLESS?
I enjoyed this latest installment, although I must admit I am a little tired of the up and down relationship of the two main characters. I would have liked more info about the lifestyle of the family that is suspected of being involved in the murder of a young woman.

Would you ever read a future book by Karin Slaughter?
Absolutely!

Joan from Niagara Falls, Ontario

Have you previously read a book by Karin Slaughter?
I have read KISSCUT, INDELIBLE and A FAINT COLD FEAR.

What other suspense/thriller writers do you read?
I also enjoy reading Harlan Coben, Erica Spindler and Tess Gerritsen.

What did you think of FAITHLESS?
[I] just finished reading my advanced reading copy of FAITHLESS by Karin Slaughter. I loved it. I thought it was her best work yet. We met again the characters that we knew from her other books. I found it very suspenseful and intriguing and very hard to put down. She takes us through a range of different emotions as she tries to solve a murder case with her ex-husband police chief Jeffrey Tolliver. The murder of a young girl by a serial killer kept me turning the pages as family secrets were revealed.

Would you ever read a future book by Karin Slaughter?
I would definitely read more of her books.

Noreen from Richmond, VA

Have you previously read a book by Karin Slaughter?
I have read books by Karin Slaughter before.

What other suspense/thriller writers do you read?
I also read the Kellermans, James Patterson and Iris Johansen.

What did you think of FAITHLESS?
[I] just finished reading FAITHLESS; thoroughly enjoyed it. This book was a real page-turner. I wanted to get into the pages and kill certain characters myself! I liked the way different characters' stories interwove with others.

Would you ever read a future book by Karin Slaughter?
I would definitely read more of Karin Slaughter's books.

Pamela from Chaparral, NM

Have you previously read a book by Karin Slaughter?
I have not read any other books of Karin Slaughter's.

What other suspense/thriller writers do you read?
The writers I usually read are, Eugene Izzi, Mark Miano, Alfred Allen Lewis and many others.

What did you think of FAITHLESS?
FAITHLESS was a good title for this book! It is hard to imagine that people are the way they are. The almighty dollar makes people do some really horrible things! I just hope they don't live in my area! I have lived through the same relationship problems. It is very hard to just up and get out! That is why we should NEVER let ANYONE separate you from your family! This book offers a lot of advice that turns out to be true! I thought many events were true to the problems many face today.

Would you ever read a future book by Karin Slaughter?
I like the style she uses. I would read more of hers if I could find them.

Wasanaa from Panama City, FL

Have you previously read a book by Karin Slaughter?
[This was my] first book by Karin Slaughter

What other suspense/thriller writers do you read?
John Grisham, Mary Higgins Clark, Dean Koontz, Robin Cook, Julie Garwood, Nora Roberts, Sandra Brown, V.C. Andrews and Catherine Coulter. There are probably others.

What did you think of FAITHLESS?
It was great! I really enjoyed how Slaughter covered so many issues without taking sides --- yet showing other views. Slaughter didn't drown the story in boring facts. The characters and their problems were very real and believable. Until the characters pieced the case together, I was never sure who the culprit was. It was nice to read about regular people working together to solve a crime, instead of one or two heroes. This is my kind of suspense.

Would you ever read a future book by Karin Slaughter?
Definitely!

Joe from Kingsport, TN

Have you previously read a book by Karin Slaughter?
This is the first book by Karin Slaughter I have read, and I don't normally read suspense/thrillers. I will, however, be looking for more books by Ms. Slaughter in the future.

What did you think of FAITHLESS?
FAITHLESS starts out rather slowly with Ms. Slaughter doing quite a bit of character development and back-story. There are a few scenes of the main plot in the first 150 pages, and the book seems to give more information about the characters than is needed. This perception is corrected as the main plot takes center stage. The characters' back-stories in many ways drive the plot and provide several unexpected twists. Much of the suspense of the climax of the book hinges on Detective Lena Adams and what is known of her life. I could not put the book down for the last 200 pages. Every time I thought I had the mystery solved, there was another turn in the plot. The only dislike I have of the book was the stereotypical descriptions of a rural southern area. Living in a similar area in Tennessee as to what is described in the book, it bothered me to see everybody related in some fashion --- by going to Sunday school together, or going to school together, or related by marriage or infidelity. I felt it was at times a little too much to believe. All around I would recommend this book, especially to someone who doesn't normally read this genre as a wonderful introduction to it. [It was] a very good book.

Gail from Hartsdale, NY

Have you previously read a book by Karin Slaughter?
I've never read any books by Karin Slaughter before. I wish I had so that I wouldn't have had so many unanswered questions about the characters. For example, what had previously happened to Tessa?

What other suspense/thriller writers do you read?
I read Patricia Cornwell, Sue Grafton, Tess Gerritsen, Robert Parker, John Sandford and others.

What did you think of FAITHLESS?
FAITHLESS was good, but not a must read. As I said before, if I had read her previous books, I might have enjoyed this more. Also, I would have liked more of the questions answered.

Would you ever read a future book by Karin Slaughter?
I would read the next book in the series. I liked the main characters of Jeffrey, Sara and Lena. If I don't like the characters, I won't read (or continue reading) the book. Thank you for the opportunity to read this book.

Sue from St. Charles, MO

Have you previously read a book by Karin Slaughter?
I have never read Karin Slaughter before this book. I had seen her books in the stores and the library.

What other suspense/thriller writers do you read?
Most of the thrillers I read tend to be along the lines of John le Carre, Caleb Carr, Arturo Perez-Reverte, Ruth Rendell and Minette Walters. I figured one of these days I would find time to pick up one of [Slaughter's] books.

What did you think of FAITHLESS?
I should have listened to my instincts and picked the books up sooner. I was caught by the first page and wasn't let go until the spellbinding end. I couldn't decide which character I was most intrigued with: Sara Linton and her mixed up family plus sheriff boyfriend Jeffrey OR Lena, her boyfriend and Hank the stand-in parent. I was pulled into the investigation, feeling the twists and turns along with the characters. I am a new and enthusiastic reader of Karin Slaughter!

Would you ever read a future book by Karin Slaughter?
I will most definitely read Karin Slaughter in the future. I will also tell my book friends to check her out! Thanks for letting me participate.

Liza from Chicago, IL

Have you previously read a book by Karin Slaughter?
Yes, BLINDSIGHTED.

What other suspense/thriller writers do you read?
Julia Spencer-Fleming, Dennis Lehane, George Pelecanos and Giles Blunt.

What did you think of FAITHLESS?
[It was] impossible to put down, as her past novels have been.

Would you ever read a future book by Karin Slaughter?
Sure!
