Anitha from Diamond Bar, CA: I wonder how you came to the idea of discussing Internet porn addiction in a book?
M. J. Rose: The idea for this book is all here: http://mjroseblog.typepad.com/backstory/2006/07/mj_roses_backst.html
Carole from Greenwich, CT: You write with excellent breathless quality and lyricism about lovemaking and snow in Manhattan. There are realistic complexities and observations about human nature and nervous mannerisms, as well as Morgan's family life and the secrets that a therapist learns --- but then is not supposed to tell anybody. You also drew fascinating portraits of sexual compulsions. My only regret is that Morgan Snow somehow (too much coincidence here) just happens to be working again, as in the previous book, on the same case that involves Noah Jordain and the police. There must be some less obvious way to involve them in each other's work life?
M. J. Rose: Though it's hard to believe, even in NYC, there are relatively few sex therapists --- very few of Morgan's stature --- and very few sex crime detectives at Noah's level, so it is actually really probable that they would keep crossing paths.
Deanna from Carlisle, MA: When is the next Butterfield Institute book coming out?
M. J. Rose: Not quite sure yet. My next novel is coming out in Sept '07, but it's not a Morgan Snow book.
Felipe from Dallas, TX: I'd love to see one of your future novels set in places such as Paris, Provence, Greece, Tuscany, etc. Do you have any plans to write a novel set in one of these locations, or do you prefer to stick with New York?
M. J. Rose: My next novel is set in Rome and a bit of NY, and the one after that is entirely in Vienna.
Mary from Wamego, KS: Where did the idea for this book come from?
M. J. Rose: The idea for this book is all here: http://mjroseblog.typepad.com/backstory/2006/07/mj_roses_backst.html
Matthew from Walker, MI: Would you ever consider leaving the genre and writing a more "mainstream" (non-erotic) title?
M. J. Rose: Yes, and its coming out in September '07.
