What other suspense/thriller authors do you read?
I have recently discovered the writings of Scott Smith, and enjoyed his latest novel, THE RUINS. However, I really like the works of Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Al Sarrantonio, Poppy Z. Brite and my all time favorite (timeless) suspense/thriller authors are Edgar Allan Poe and H. P. Lovecraft. There are countless others, but these are my favorites.
What did you think of THE INTERPRETATION OF MURDER?
Thanks so much for the pleasure of allowing me to read Jed Rubenfeld's THE INTERPRETATION OF MURDER. To call this book exciting would be an understatement. Mr. Rubenfeld grasps the reader's attention from page one and doesn't let go until the very last, plus his ingenious ability to intermingle historical figures with nonfictional characters makes this a truly phenomenal read!
I enjoyed the intermixing of factual people and places into [an historical fiction] mystery. Mr. Rubenfeld kept me guessing who (or possibly what, with Jung's dabbling in the supernatural, which I found fascinating) the murderer is until the very end. Usually I can get a feel for whom it may be in a mystery, but Mr. Rubenfeld really kept me wondering just who it may be, and when it was revealed, I was all the more flabbergasted.
Would you ever read a future book by Jed Rubenfeld?
Absolutely! Any writer who can keep me guessing until the very end is my kind of author!
Thanks again for allowing me to read and comment on such a fine book.
Mr. Rubenfeld should be very proud to have produced such a remarkable novel. I cannot wait to read it again, as I am positive I will find an even greater insight into his writing style.

What did you think of THE INTERPRETATION OF MURDER?
I enjoyed the HAMLET connections, as well as the twists and turns. The sexuality aspect was great. I appreciated how the plot wasn't solely based on Freud, and that Younger and Littlemore were fundamental in the storytelling. Overall, a good read.

What did you think of THE INTERPRETATION OF MURDER?
I really liked THE INTERPRETATION OF MURDER. It is a really well-crafted book that combines suspense with history. I enjoyed the historical side as much as the suspenseful side that made me cringe and wonder if I really was only hearing things. Mr. Rubenfeld is a great writer, and I feel he has a future with this genre. I would definitely read other books he writes and would strongly recommend his debut novel to anyone who enjoys the thriller genre.

Overall, this was a really good novel. I thoroughly enjoyed it and am honored to have been one of the ten readers chosen to receive an advance copy and respond with a preview review of the book. Please keep me apprised of any other novels that Jed Rubenfeld writes, because I would definitely purchase them.
I worked at Walden Books for nearly two years and am going back to work there during the Christmas holidays. I only wish that I still worked for the bookstore during the release of Mr. Rubenfeld's novel because I would have certainly recommended THE INTERPRETATION OF MURDER to the many customers who frequently asked me for author recommendations. As it is, I am in the store very often and will [suggest] this new novel to customers I hear asking for new authors to read.
