John Hart

Fast Facts:

• John was born in Durham, NC in 1965, and eventually moved to Rowan County, where his two novels THE KING OF LIES and DOWN RIVER are set.
  
  
• John majored in French literature at Davidson College, and earned graduate degrees in accounting and law.
  
  
• Aside from writing, John has also worked as a banker, a stockbroker, and an attorney. He also sanded teak on the Carolina coast, worked on helicopters in Alaska, and tended bar at a London pub.
  
  
• Some of John's favorite hobbies are sailing, flying helicopters and playing golf.
  
  
• John's debut novel, THE KING OF LIES, spent several weeks on the New York Times Best Seller list and was named as one of the Best Books of the Year by Publishers Weekly. It was also nominated for the Edgar Award for Best First Fiction, the Macavity Award for Best First Mystery Novel, the Gumshoe Award for Best First Novel, the Barry Award for Best First Novel, and the SIBA Award.
