What did you think of STONE CREEK?
I finished reading this book several days ago, but it has taken me this long to get my emotions under control to write my thoughts. As soon as I opened this book and read the first page, I was pulled in immediately. The characters were so real; what has happened to Danny, Lily, Paul and Eve is heart wrenching and sad. I wept for them and was touched by how strong they were in dealing with their losses disappointments. Ms. Lustbader's writing is vivid. I felt like I was a part of the story. This book made me question the desires and decisions that were made; it made me think about how I would act and react under similar circumstances; it made me realize that love hurts, heals and gives hope. These characters and this book will remain with me.

What did you think of STONE CREEK?
It was a fantastic story! Victoria Lustbader paints pictures with words. Her scenes and characters come to life in your mind as you read and you can visualize the entire story. I found myself hoping that everything would work out for the characters, yet understanding the healing that must take place. Be prepared to really get involved in this book.

Have you previously read a book by Victoria Lustbader?
No; this was my first, but it won't be my last. This gave a very personal insight into the lives of people for whom I felt an affinity.

I'm a huge Stephen King fan, but I read a wide variety of books.
What did you think of STONE CREEK?
I enjoyed it, and it was the first book in two weeks that I've started and actually finished. I liked her writing style and her character development; I also recognized situations that I have been involved in and was interested in her take on how people handled them. I thought the book was just beautiful and have already recommended it to a friend of mine. I hope she continues writing. I plan to look for and read her first book.
Would you ever read a future book by Victoria Lustbader?
You bet!
Donna from Philadelphia, PA
Have you previously read a book by Victoria Lustbader?
No. This is my first.
What other authors do you usually read?
There are too many to list. Right now, I am reading and/or listening to books by Robert B. Parker (a Spenser mystery), Steven Hall (a really quirky and interesting psychological novel), Kate Jacobs and Barbara Kingsolver, so it is a wide array of authors. I also follow several mystery/thriller authors and read all their work; for example --- Patricia Cornwell, Martha Grimes, Elizabeth George, Janet Evanovich, P. D. James, the aforementioned Parker, Lisa Scottoline, John Grisham, David Baldacci, Nelson DeMille and dozens more whose names escape me at the moment...
What did you think of STONE CREEK?
I found it extremely well written and engaging. My only criticism would be that I thought the book started too late... i.e. there are too many pages before the two protagonists meet. I would have woven a lot of the back story in after the meeting between Lily and Danny. I found myself anxious to get to the point where they meet.
Would you ever read a future book by Victoria Lustbader?
Yes, I would. I like her style and she captures and portrays her characters' emotions well.
Andria from Midland, MI
Have you previously read a book by Victoria Lustbader?
No, I have not. I am primarily a mystery book reader.
What authors do you usually read?
I like British crime writers, especially Peter Lovesey, Stephen Booth, Jo Bannister, Val McDermid and Cynthia Harrod-Eagles. Among my U.S. favorites are Linda Fairstein, Stephen White, Robert Crais, Karin Slaughter, Earl Emerson and J. A. Jance. For non-mystery writers, I like Ann Patchett, Jodi Picoult, Robert Kurson and Mark Dunn.
What did you think about STONE CREEK?
It was a quick, but pleasant read. It was a little too neatly resolved.
Ms. Lustbader does give the reader a bit more than an entertaining story in that it is interesting to imagine how one might react in Lily’s or Danny’s situation.
Would you ever read a future book by Victoria Lustbader?
Probably. She presents an engaging cast of characters with whom one can easily empathize.
